In 1998, Trafictec introduced the first GPS based traffic signal controller. The same precise timing technology was later incorporated in our stand alone time reference device known as the UTB or Universal Time Base. The UTB was specifically designed to provide precise time and date information to Caltrans 170 controllers but has since been updated to work equally well with NEMA and ATC/2070 controllers. Trafictec continues to be the leader in GPS based traffic signal timing with more than 3,000 UTBs installed.

Our newest product, The Chooser, makes it easy to screen people or products, in a random fashion, without discrimination. It is especially useful when screening large numbers for employees exiting during shift changes.

In January 2009 Trafictec introduced its second generation traffic signal controller for markets outside of the United States and Europe.
